If you’re a military member in the Gulf Coast region and need a new ID card, the Eglin Military Personnel Section (MPS) has you covered.
The MPS provides personnel support and services to 8,000 military personnel, 4,000 civil servants, and over 50,000 dependents and retirees. The ID Card office is open Monday-Friday from 0800 to 1500, and walk-ins are welcome. However, customers are encouraged to decrease their wait time by scheduling an appointment online.
In order to receive a new ID card, all customers aged 21 and older must have two forms of identification. One must be an unexpired state/government issued photo ID. In addition, customers who are age 18 and older will need a power of attorney if their Military Sponsor is not available or on TDY orders and cannot provide proper documentation.
During walk-in hours, customers will wait in the standby line until they reach the front of the queue. Having an appointment is helpful in getting in and out of the office in a timely manner.
Military members also need to update DEERS and add dependents (spouse and children) in order to receive an ID card with these individuals listed on their unit’s roster. If you’re already scheduled or know your confirmation number, you can reschedule your appointment online. The office is located at Building 745, Bldg 745 F Wing Road on Eglin AFB.
