Do you need a place for your child to go during the day while you work? The Youth Center on Dover Air Force Base offers Before and After School Age Care, as well as a variety of daily activities and programs.
The center also offers short-term care during summer and winter breaks and long-term care during the school year.
Membership Procedures
We do not require a contract for membership; however, we do ask that any interested parties attend an orientation prior to signing up their children.
During the school year, memberships are open from 6:15 AM until 5:45 PM. During summer, memberships are open from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
The Youth Center is open to all DoD cardholders, ages 5-18 years old.
Amenities at the Youth Center
The center features a Teen Room, Gymnasium, seven classrooms, computer lab, music room, art room, multi-purpose room and a snack bar.
Daily, weekly and monthly prices vary depending on membership length and daily activities.
Provided as part of the membership is access to the educational Youth Sports Programs offered by Sports Plus, which include basketball, cheerleading, soccer and fall/spring baseball.
With this equipment comes responsibility: all members must demonstrate good sportsmanship and practice safety.
Before Care Hours
Before school, children must be dropped off no earlier than 6:15 AM (the doors will not open until 6:00 AM). The Youth Center closes daily at 5:45 PM.
After School Program Hours
Children must be picked up by 5:45 PM each day. The Youth Center will close at 6:00 PM.
Summer Care Hours
The Youth Center is open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the summer months.
The Membership Process
To become a member, you must come to the Youth Center and sign up in person. You will be required to provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate and military ID. You will also be required to attend an orientation prior to your child attending the Youth Center.
Membership Fees
Daily prices for members vary depending on the length of the membership and the number of activities chosen. Weekly and monthly prices are also available. Prices can be found on our website or by contacting the Youth Center.
