Managing Children's Misbehavior

Source: Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) Weekly eNewsletter

Adults sometimes expect children to act older or more mature than they can. When children misbehave, try changing their surroundings instead of trying to change their behavior. For example, if a young child frequently fights with his sister at the dinner table, rather than trying to set limits and enforcing consequences for misbehavior, simply have him sit on the other side of the table. Removing tempting options for poor behavior can be an easy way to help kids learn to be successful and it will make your life easier too!
