The Air Force Aid Society is the official charity of the United States Air Force. Its three-pronged charter promotes the Air Force mission by providing worldwide emergency assistance to members and their families for things like:

  • Vehicle Expenses
  • Emergency Travel
  • Basic Living
  • Funeral Expenses
  • Medical/Dental
  • Child Care/Respite
  • Moving Expenses.
It sponsors educational assistance programs for wives and children, and offers a variety of base community enhancement programs such as:

  • Give Parents a Break - stress-relieving child care,
  • Child Care for PCS - Families on PCS orders received over 84,000 hours of child care, totaling $422K,
  • Child Care for Volunteers - $157K for child care to support base community volunteers,
  • Bundles for Babies - $263K for bundles of baby gifts to new and expectant parents,
  • Wellness – Nearly $34K in enhancements to Advocacy’s First Time Parents program,
  • Phone Home - $644K in $20 value phone cards purchased for members deployed 30 days or more.  Nearly 70,000 people actually received AFAS phone cards in 2005,
  • Car Care Because We Care – Over 4,000 preventive vehicle maintenance inspections performed, totaling $128K,
  • Youth Employment Skills (YES) - $207K disbursed in education and base community dollar credits for high school students who volunteer on base,
  • Local Education Programs - $99K for short-term job training for spouses and
  • Spouse Orientation - $73K to help support base Heart Link programs.

Military Impacted Schools Association: Military Impacted Schools Association (MISA) is a national organization representing school districts that serve high concentrations of military children. The organization works to provide a continuum of quality education for all military children. Formed in 1986, MISA works on funding, legislation, partnerships and programs for military families on the move.

Thrift Savings Plan (TSP): The TSP is a retirement savings plan for civilians who are employed by the United States Government and members of the uniformed services.

Tax Information for Members of the U.S. Armed Forces: The tax laws provide some special benefits for active members of the U.S. Armed Forces, including those serving in combat zones.

Court ordered garnishment information for child support, alimony and commercial debts for all military members and all civilian employees paid by DFAS, plus court ordered divisions of military retired pay under the Uniformed Services Former Spouses' Protection Act:
