NWS Yorktown offers two military families the opportunity to work together in creating an environment that encourages academic achievement through structured after-school activities. Located on the Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Yorktown near Williamsburg, Virginia, the School Age Care (SAC) program provides before- and after-school care for children of Navy and Marine Corps personnel assigned to NWS Yorktown. The Youth Center also provides all day care services on school holidays and during teacher in-service days for those who are enrolled.
The summer camp offers a variety of activities that are designed to accommodate the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of 6-12 year olds. These activities include Boys and Girls Club programming, 4-H programming, swimming, bowling, golfing, and much more.
In addition to the summer camp, NWS Yorktown also offers a youth sports program that teaches the value of exercise, healthy living, competition, teamwork and group dynamics. Youth sports are an excellent way to get your child involved in a team or sport while making new friends.
