UNO’S THANKS ACTIVE U.S. MILITARY
AND VETS WITH A DISCOUNT IN CELEBRATION OF VETERAN’S DAY
Established in 1943, Uno’s offers 19.43% military discount
BOSTON, MASS., November 2, 2011 – As part of a long-standing tradition of giving back and saying “thanks” to all U.S. military men and women, Uno’s is offering all active and retired military personnel a discount in honor of Veteran’s Day from November 7 through November 11. The discount is 19.43% off their entire food bill (excluding alcohol), no matter how many family members and friends they dine with. The percentage off is a nod to the year the company was founded – 1943.
“We want all service men and women and their families to come in and let us take care of them. They do so much to take care of us. This is a small token of our appreciation for all they do and have done,” says Frank Guidara, chief executive officer of Uno’s and former Army officer. “Sometimes we take our freedom for granted and we want everyone in uniform to know that we’re doing our best to always remember how grateful we are for that freedom.”
Veteran’s Day is an annual United States federal holiday honoring military veterans. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world. Falling on November 11, the day marks the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.
The discount is available to all active and retired military personnel at Uno’s nationwide.
