I am a Reservist JAG and in Private Practice. Depending on the complexity of the the will and estate and if a trust needs to be in place, you may need to seek outside counsel.  I've done hundreds of simple wills and estates through the readiness program that the JAG department periodically schedules for deployment readiness, but estate planning is a little bit different.  See what the JAG dept can do fo ryou, and if you need to be referred to someone else, I will gladly offer you a free consult to see exactly what we're looking at.  There are often tax implications that can be avoided and a seasoned attorney may be in your best interest.

Respectfully,

A civilian attorney would set up a will and estate for a military family just as a normal family.  However, there are military benefits that should be addressed in the estate planning.

I think you can call your client's nearest-installation and ask for the JAG department.  They are attorneys in the military.  My husband, a JAG officer, said that they should be willing to help you with general military law and benefits.
