Question:

I WAS TOLD THAT AS A DEPENDANT OF ACTIVE SOLDIER I WOULD HAVE TO GET MY DRIVERS LICENSE CHANGED TO THE STATE WE ARE STATIONED...IS THIS TRUE

No that is not true... HOWEVER! if the state you car is registered to has a state inspection, then it's easier to change the plates to the state you are stationed in!

As of right now it depends on the state you are residing in.  For example, if you were in Ohio... then yes you would have to get a new driver's license.  If your spouse was stationed in Texas then no you would not.  Check out the web site for the state where you are stationed, and I'm sure you'll find there are special rules for military and dependents.

No, that' not true, nor your vehicle paperwork needs change except for the ins.  Just make sure you update the address on your drivers licence and car registration by simply contacting the DMV online for your state of origen where you hold your DL now. good luck

If you are stationed in Alaska and go to work you must obtain Alaska drivers license. If you do not work you do not have to have Alaska drivers license.
